LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – A 15-year-old boy with autism is on a mission to make people's lives better.
Dillon Marshall-Alley, with the help of his mother, stepfather and Lincoln Park Goodfellows, is hosting a toy drive.
"I feel bad for all the kids that don't have a Christmas," he said.
Helping out is nothing new for the high school sophomore. In the past, Dillon has collected and donated 1,600 boxes of cereal to the hungry and blankets and socks to homeless veterans.
"I was like, 'You know what? I want to help them out to have toys,'" Dillon said.
He went before the Lincoln Park school board and City Council to get permission to put donation boxes in the schools, board building and City Hall.
“His goal is no Lincoln Park kids goes without a Christmas. I am praying that happens," said Sheri Alley, Dillon's mother.
Dillon's toy drive goes until Dec. 11. Then Dillon and the Goodfellows will make sure the toys are delivered to children by Christmas.
