HAZEL PARK, Mich. – A Michigan mother is expected to face charges after state police said she was spotted driving the wrong way on I-75 near I-696 with her 1-year-old boy under a blanket in the back seat.

Michigan State Police said the 27-year-old woman’s Jeep was stopped by troopers about 4 a.m. Friday on the southbound side of I-75 just south of I-696. The Jeep was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

Troopers found the 1-year-old in the back seat without a car seat or a seat belt. The boy was under a blanket.

Investigators are working to figure out where and when she entered the interstate.

Video from a Michigan Department of Transportation camera shows the moment the woman eventually stopped and pulled over for police.
