DETROIT – Detroit's Foxtown Grille, which has been open since 2001, will close at the end of 2017.
The restaurant, which is located inside the Fox Theatre, opened in Downtown Detroit in 2001, right along Woodward Avenue.

The restaurant will close at the end of the year after failing to agree to an extension of their lease.
"It's a very unfortunate thing. I've always had a good relationship with the Ilitch family, but it's a completely different culture with Chris Ilitch. It's disheartening to think you would be good enough to be in their building for so long ... and now they will dismiss someone and not show any loyalty to a longtime tenant," restaurant owner Barbieri Kolinski told the Metro Times.
The Grille was a popular spot for people to have lunch or dinner before attending a show at the Fox or Fillmore, or attending a Tigers, Lions or Red Wings game.

Da Edoardo Foxtown Grille is one of the Barbieri family’s four Michigan restaurants and is owned and operated by brother and sister, Ed Barbieri and Ann Barbieri Kolinski.
