Detroit police arrest suspect accused of kidnapping 5-year-old boy
A 5-year-old boy was found safe on Detroit’s west side after a frantic 14-hour search. Marcus Pruitt disappeared Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. He was later found around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Detroit police said he was kidnapped. Police said Davelle Stevenson, 39, kidnapped Pruitt after Pruitt asked about his red moped. Stevenson was taken into custody Friday evening.

Citing a concern for the safety of the state’s residents, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel today filed a brief with the Kent County Circuit Court in opposition to the Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Board’s decision to parole Catherine Wood, 57, of West Michigan.
Greektown crowd concerns
A wild scene played out in Greektown last weekend as a man was shocked with a police Taser and a woman was arrested after taking a swing at officers, according to authorities.
People who work in Greektown said the large weekend crowds often become unruly and out of control.
Street racers
Residents in Southwest Detroit are fed up with street racers speeding near their homes.
Theresa Gutierrez lives on Trenton Street in Southwest Detroit. She said the problem is so bad she's stepping in to do something about it.
Home invasion
Police on Wednesday arrested three men suspected of at least 20 home invasions.
During one of the home invasions, a 15-year-old girl hid in the basement of a home in a storage space under the stairs. Her call to 911 is credited by police with ending nearly two dozen home invasions.
