Ford-Volkswagen update 🤝
Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen AG will provide an update this morning on their global alliance, which was announced in January. Details about their collaboration are expected to be revealed. Long overdue Purple Heart awarded 🎖️
It's about time! U.S. Marine and World War II Veteran Anthony Joseph (Tony) Procassini, 98, will be presented with the long-overdue Purple Heart he earned as a result of the combat-related injuries he received nearly 75 years ago in Japan.
Democratic presidential candidate in town
Presidential Candidate and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will be in Oakland County today on the "Trump Broken Promises Tour." We're trying keep track of all the candidates who decide to come through SE Michigan. Gillibrand is speaking at a town hall this morning at Birmingham Unitarian Church.
Festa Italiana opens at Freedom Hill 🇮🇹 🍝
Over in Macomb County, Festa Italiana is back at the Freedom Hill County Park. This three-day event celebrates Italian Heritage and is FREE for everyone to attend. It features live music, delicious food and tons of fun! "Everyone's Italian at Festa Italiana!"

Plymouth Art in the Park this weekend 🖼️ 🎨
This is THE weekend to head to downtown Plymouth if you want to stroll streets and streets of booths featuring local artists. Art In The Park is welcoming more than 400 artists and an expected 300,000 visitors to downtown Plymouth to celebrate 40 years of history. It is billed as the second largest art festival in Michigan! Expect a busy weekend in Plymouth, so get out of town if this doesn't sound like your thing. It pretty much takes over the city.
Swimming for a good cause! 🏊
The Motor City Mile is happening on the beach at Belle Isle beginning at 8 a.m. The event is a cancer research fundraiser as part of the Swim Across America series. Participants swim various distances under the guidance of volunteers. Details: swimacrossamerica.org.
