Woman pulled over after allegedly shoplifting

OAK PARK, Mich. – A driver took off during a traffic stop Sunday, dragging an Oak Park police officer behind her vehicle.

Police stopped a Chevrolet Equinox about 4:45 p.m. after the driver was seen stealing clothes from Citi Trends at 9 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway.

The driver gave the officer her ID, but when he asked her to get out of the vehicle, she drove away, dragging him for about 20 feet. Police said the woman ran a red light to get away.
