ECORSE, Mich. – A Chicago-area man was arrested in Michigan after he traveled to meet an FBI agent who he thought was a 13-year-old girl, authorities said.
Police received a tip that Daniel Vorberg was allegedly arranging to drive from his home to Brownstown, Michigan to meet a girl and take her virginity. When the girl tried to sneak out, barking dogs woke her mother up, and her mother went to police to tell them about Vorberg.
When federal authorities found out about Vorberg, they set up an account posing as a 13-year-old girl to talk to him.
Authorities said Vorberg allegedly said sexual things to the FBI decoy and arranged to meet her at an Ecorse park to have sex.
Vorberg allegedly said, “If anything does happen, say you told me that you are 18 and we didn’t talk or do anything sexual,” before driving to meet who he thought was a girl last week, police said.
Police said they arrested him about a block from the park where he was supposed to meet the girl. He had a condom and a box cutter, police said.
According to a federal complaint, Vorberg was overheard telling his mother to “wipe it clean” when he called her after his arrest.
Vorberg was charged with attempted enticement of a minor.

Vorberg has a lengthy criminal history that includes indecent exposure.
