Video shows car plowing through Detroit gas station; 2 injured

Minor injuries reported in crash

DETROIT – Two people were taken to a hospital after a car crashed into a gas station on Detroit’s west side on Friday morning.

The incident happened at the Citgo gas station on West McNichols Road and Schaefer Highway.

Video shows the car barreling through the front door, causing massive damage to the building. The woman behind the wheel was previously at the gas pump before crashing into the building.

The owner of the gas station said one of the people injured was the manager of the store. Injuries in the incident are minor and the victims are expected to recover.

The gas station told Local 4 they’re working to get a temporary door in as soon as possible. The vehicle was removed from the store around 12 p.m.
