DETROIT – A family is grieving after a man was stabbed to death inside a home on Detroit’s west side.
Police were investigating the death of 62-year-old Tony Johnson on Thursday at the home on Ashton Street. His sister, Roxy, showed Local 4 pictures of her brother.
“He was my big brother. He was always there when I needed him,” Roxy said.
Johnson was the oldest of 10 siblings. He was a father, uncle and nephew, too.
“All I know is I’m missing my only big brother,” Roxy said.
His family comforted each other Thursday outside their home. They said they are outraged and confused.
“I’m just so mad. I’m just so mad because he was loved by everybody that came in contact with him,” said Rochelle Roper.
Police went door-to-door looking for answers. Police said they received a call at 7:30 a.m. when a family member found Johnson dead with multiple stab wounds.
“We will miss him dearly, so please turn yourself in, before you get caught, because you’re going to get caught,” said Johnson’s great niece, Lisa Johnson.
