Nonprofit provides assistance to adults with disabilities

It takes very special parents to raise children with disabilities.

Many parents are kept awake at night wondering what will happen with their children when they aren’t around anymore? One organization is working hard to take that fear away.

On My Own is a nonprofit founded in 1997 by parents of children with disabilities. The families decided to create independent living options for their children.

The organization provides services for adults with disabilities, including educational and social activities, and hands-on assistance in day-to-day living.

More information on On My Own can be found on its official website here.
