DETROIT – Prosecutors have charged a 27-year-old Detroit man in connection with the homicide of Jerome Jackson, 49, also from Detroit.
Police said Jackson was found dead Sunday after 1:37 p.m. He was lying on his back on a front yard in the 20220 block of Gilchrist Street with a gunshot wound to the chest area, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

James Lee Wright was arrested by police on the scene. Police said Wright shot Jackson after a brief argument.
Wright was arraigned Wednesday on one count of second-degree murder and felony firearm. A probable cause conference is scheduled for Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Dec. 3 at 9 a.m.
