The U.S. Coast Guard did catch up to the boat, named “Valara VI,” a little further up the Detroit River. It’s an 80-foot yacht that was headed toward the Ambassador Bridge.

No injuries have been reported.

It’s unclear what caused the boat to slam into the wall. Police said an initial report indicates the captain, a 61-year-old man, may have fallen asleep.

A 57-year-old man also was on the boat at the time of the collision.
