WARREN, Mich. – A Warren woman murdered her 26-year-old son before killing herself, according to police.

Police said the apparent murder-suicide happened after 8:22 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2024, at a home in the 13000 block of Geoffrey Drive in Warren.

A 33-year-old man told police that his mother pointed a gun at him shortly after he woke up on Sunday morning. After a brief struggle he was able to escape to a neighbor’s house, where 911 was called.

When police arrived they attempted to contact the mother, but she would not respond. Moments later, police heard multiple gunshots from inside the home.

Police said they made tactical entry into the home and discovered that the mother had shot her 26-year-old son and then killed herself.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and there is no danger to the public. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Warren detective Taylor at 586-574-4741.
