DETROIT – What could be a key piece of evidence in the Jane Bashara murder investigation is now in the hands of the Grosse Pointe Park police, the Local 4 Defenders have learned.
Local 4 cameras captured a Cadillac being lifted onto a flatbed tow truck and hauled away on Thursday.
Sources said police requested the Cadillac be impounded.
Sources say the Cadillac is being used to verify or discount parts of Joe Gentz's story that he was promised a used Cadillac and $8,000 to kill the Grosse Pointe Park mother.
Jane was found dead Jan. 25 in the back of her SUV in an alley on Detroit's east side. She had been strangled.
Her husband, Bob, had reported her missing the night before.
On a tip from a viewer, the Defenders found the alleged Cadillac Tuesday.
Who is the Cadillac registered to? Jane's husband.
