A worker was killed Friday when a machine he was operating rolled over on top of him at a construction site in Novi, according to police.

The incident happened at 1:02 p.m. Friday at a job site on Taft Road just south of 11 Mile Road, officials said. Pulte Homes has a new development going up at the site, and a crew was working to level the land, officials said.

Earlier this week, Local 4 reported: In a deposition, a Founders Brewing Co. manager claimed he didn't know an employee was black after the worker filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the Michigan brewery.
UAW-GM
UAW-GM members ratified a proposed contract Friday, ending the longest automotive strike in 50 years, officials announced.
"General Motors members have spoken," said Terry Dittes, UAW vice president and director of the UAW-GM Department. "We are all so incredibly proud of UAW-GM members who captured the hearts and minds of a nation. Their sacrifice and courageous stand addressed the two-tier wages structure and permanent temporary worker classification that has plagued working class Americans."
MDOT road workers
In the wake of two road worker deaths in the past month, State Transportation Director Paul C. Ajegba wants to remind drivers of the importance of work zone safety.
On Wednesday, Kevin White, a maintenance worker in the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) Coloma garage, died from injuries sustained when a tire from a passing truck struck him while he was clearing large debris from the shoulder of I-94 in Berrien County.
FDA vaping test
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services received results of tests from the Food and Drug Administration on vaping products collected from Michigan lung injury patients. Five Michigan lung injury patients provided any vaping products they have consumed for testing.
