DETROIT – Detroit's Nike store is set to open 10 a.m. Thursday.
Downtown billboards have been advertising the store's opening date at the 1261 Woodward Avenue building. That puts the Nike store near the corner of Grand River and Woodward Avenue, in the heart of Downtown's blossoming shopping district.

Nike's neighbors include Moosejaw, Inside Detroit and Lofts of Merchant Row.
The 1261 Woodward building is owned by Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate Services. Nike will occupy the building's two levels, making it a 22,000-square-foot store, according to Bedrock.
Gilbert confirmed the Downtown Detroit Nike store back in November 2015.
"We look forward to bringing Nike's performance products and experiences to downtown Detroit with our sixth Community Store, scheduled to open in 2016," said Nike spokeswoman Lisa Beachy in an emailed statement. "Through job creation and volunteer efforts, we hope to both positively impact the Detroit community and the local economy."
