DTE Energy power outage map: Thousands without power due to storms in Metro Detroit

Around 7,400 DTE Energy customers are without power on Aug. 28, 2017 due to storms and heavy rain. (WDIV)

DETROIT – There are 8,400 DTE Energy customers without power due to thunderstorms and heavy rain that moved through Southeast Michigan on Monday, the company announced.

Hundreds of residents are without power in the northwest parts of Detroit, and there are also outages in parts of Oak Park, Farmington and Redford Township.

Several of the outages are being attributed to fallen trees.

More than 800 customers are without power in Clawson, as of 10:30 p.m. Monday.

There is also an outage of more than 300 Detroit residents on the city's west side. DTE Energy's map said the cause is under investigation.
