DETROIT – Family and friends are mourning the loss of a Detroit mother and her 2-year-old daughter who were killed in a fire Tuesday evening at an apartment complex in 9500 block of Brace Street.

Star and Mylah "Princess" Milligan were found dead at the apartment.
The woman's 7-year-old son and her husband were transported to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Residents told Local 4 that the people in the unit below were drying clothes on the stove, but the Detroit Fire Department has not confirmed this.
