Grandfather picks up boy found wandering in Detroit after seeing story on Local 4 News

Police find boy wandering in Detroit street

DETROIT – The grandfather of a young boy who was found Monday afternoon wandering on a Detroit street picked him up from police around 4:30 p.m.

Police said the boy is 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He was being held at the 6th Precinct near the corner of Plymouth Road and Warwick Street.

The boy's grandfather said he wasn't watching the boy Monday, but went to pick him up after seeing the story on Local 4 News at 4.

Officials were searching for the boy's parents to call police or come to pick up their son.
