BRANDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police said a 34-year-old man is on the run in Oakland County after he shot his wife and another man Tuesday night in Ortonville.
Michael Joseph Quigley is considered armed and dangerous. Police believe he may be hiding in the woods near the scene of the shooting, which was in the 90 block of Village Court in Ortonville.
The shooting victims are in stable condition. Police said they both suffered single gunshot wounds.
Police said a 3-year-old girl was in the home at the time of the shooting. She was not injured. She is with other family members now.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Quigley pushed his way through a door into an apartment where his estranged wife was visiting a male friend.
"He pushed his way into the apartment where an argument took place between those present. At this time, Quigley fired off multiple shots using a .22 caliber silver revolver," reads a statement from the Sheriff's Office. "One bullet struck the male victim in eye and another bullet struck the female victim in the back of the head."

According to Oakland County court records, Quigley's wife filed for divorce last week.
The search has forced several school districts to close Wednesday as a precaution. Lake Orion Community Schools will be open but under a soft lockdown.
"We're telling everyone to please stay indoors," a police spokesman said Tuesday night. "We have a lot of resources out here. We have a lot of canine dogs. We have deputies from all over the area. Our special investigations unit is out here. Our fugitive unit is out here. We're combing through the area. Our helicopter is in the air.
"So we're asking everyone to please stay inside. We have received some calls, and we're aware that some people have been outside their residents armed after they've heard what happened. We're asking everyone to just please go back inside and keep the doors locked and don't be doing that."
Police searching swampy, wooded area
Cpt. Gary Miller, of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, said water and swampland are hindering the search effort.
"It's not the ideal conditions to be searching for someone," he said.
Police have a K-9 officer and a helicopter helping in the search. Miller also said since it's opening day of deer hunting season he is hoping anyone out hunting will be able to help law enforcement officials.
"We've had some contact in the past with (Quigley). Nothing major," said Miller.
Gunman used .22 caliber revolver
Miller said the gunman used a .22 caliber revolver which has not been recovered by law enforcement.
"Do not approach him if you see anything. Call 911," Miller said. "We don't believe he knows this area well ... we're assuming he's having a tough time getting around."
Miller said Quigley was last seen wearing a brown coat and a black hoodie.
"We're nowhere near stopping (the search) at this point. Not even considering it," he said.

Gunman, wife recently separated
Police said the gunman and his wife were recently separated. They are going through a divorce, as indicated by court records.
"We know that he was distraught over their separation," said Miller.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Quigley's wife was in the process of obtaining a personal protection order and was due to have a hearing in front of a judge on Wednesday.
As for the male shooting victim, it's unclear what his relationship to the woman is at this time.
"We have some reports that some people are saying yes, that he was (her boyfriend), and some are saying no he wasn't. We are talking to him at the hospital," said Miller.
Miller did say both victims are in stable condition. However, the woman is not in a condition to talk to investigators right now.
