DETROIT – A handyman who said Bob Bashara ordered him to kill his wife Jane Bashara will not testify in the murder trial against Bob Bashara.
Joe Gentz appeared in court Friday where it was decided he will not testify. He is in prison for second-degree murder after saying he killed Jane on Bob Bashara's orders.
The 56-year-old Bashara is in prison for trying to have the handyman killed. He's eligible for parole in 2019.
Jane Bashara was found strangled in 2012.
The jury, including alternates, consists of 13 men and 5 women. They were seated on Thursday. Opening statements are expected to begin Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. (Monday is Columbus Day.)
