A case involving Macomb County Clerk Karen Spranger was before a judge Monday morning as lawyers for the clerk made a case for the firing of several employees.
Spranger allegedly questioned an employee about where her loyalties would lie if grievances had to be filed. Four employees were sent home.

A judge ruled that Spranger violated the National labor Relations Act. Part of the decision included a stipulation that a notice stating that Spranger would basically obey the law and not harass employees was to be posted in the office.
The notice was posted Oct. 13. and surveillance video shows Register of Deeds Jackie Ryan covered the notice later that day with a poster.
The notice was back on display three days later and surveillance video shows Spranger covering it up with another poster.
Spranger is appealing the decision.
The order temporarily allowed the four employees to return to work. An attorney for Spranger argued that she should be able to manage her office.
The judge agreed with the lower court's decision.
