3 critically injured after speeding car crashes into building on Detroit’s east side

Witnesses say car was going over 100 mph

DETROIT – Three people are in critical condition after a Chrysler 300 crashed into a building on Mound Road near 8 Mile around 3:25 a.m. Sunday.

Witnesses say the Chrysler 300 was going over 100 mph when it hit several bumps, slammed into the building and caught fire. The three injured people were inside the car when it crashed on Detroit’s east side, police say. They include the driver, a 34-year-old woman, 35-year-old female passenger and 42-year-old male passenger.

According to police, the crash happened after the driver of the Chrysler 300 was drag racing south on Mound Road with a white Dodge Charger.
