TAYLOR, Mich. – Several units of an apartment building were evacuated Wednesday morning due to a barricaded gunman situation in Taylor.

Update 10 a.m.: This barricaded situation has ended, police said. No other information is available at this time.

The apartments are on Court Village Lane near Beech Daly and Eureka roads. Police said it all started about 2 a.m. with a domestic dispute between a man and a woman in a relationship. The couple are in their 20s and have a 1-year-old child.

The woman was first able to leave the apartment, police said. She was being held by Taylor police for questioning. However, the man remained inside the home with the 1-year-old. Police said they believed he was armed.

Police said they were in no rush because of the 1-year-old child being involved. They were being cautious for the child’s safety.
