17-year-old boy shot exiting vehicle on Detroit’s west side

Victim expected to be OK

DETROIT – A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday night as he exited his vehicle near the intersection of Mendota Street and Chicago on Detroit’s west side.

According to authorities, it happened at about 11 p.m. and the shots may have been fired from a dark-colored Dodge Durango.

Police said the boy was taken to a hospital, where he is expected to be OK.
