Detroit police search for 2 people in connection with robbery at computer store

Detroit police are searching for two people in connection with a robbery at a computer store on the city's west side. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020. (WDIV)

DETROIT – Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two people in connection with an unarmed robbery at a computer store on Detroit west side.

Detroit police said that at about 1 p.m. on Dec. 29, a man and woman went to the store in the 6400 block of Michigan Avenue and requested to exchange a laptop for another. The man then requested to see a new laptop, which the 47-year-old employee showed and placed behind the counter.

Police said the male suspect then grabbed the laptop and began walking out the store. As the employee was walking toward the man, the female suspect attempted to strike him with her laptop. Police said the man and woman left the store on foot and headed east on Michigan Avenue.

The male suspect is described as a Black man between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, 150-170 pounds, with dark hair braided to the back and a lazy eye. Police said he was wearing a red coat with a dark-colored hood underneath, dark-colored pants, black shoes and a black face mask.

The female suspect is described as a Black woman, between 5 feet 1 inch tall and 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130-150 pounds, with brown shoulder-length hair pulled into a ponytail. She was wearing a headband with the word “Jesus” across the top, a navy blue jacket, black and white Adidas shoes and a light blue and white medical face mask.
