19-year-old charged in shooting that killed 17-year-old, injured his father in South Lyon

Police say suspect turned himself in on Jan. 1

SOUTH LYON, Mich. – A 19-year-old has been charged in a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy and injured the boy’s father in South Lyon.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued a 10-count felony warrant for Fadi Zeineh, of Ann Arbor, including homicide -- felony murder -- which is a life sentence without parole.

He was arraigned on Monday, and bond was also denied.

According to the South Lyon Police Department, Zeineh turned himself in to the Ann Arbor Police Department on Jan. 1, accompanied by his attorney.

South Lyon police, along with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the shooting that happened overnight on Dec. 30 in the 300 block of East Liberty Street. Police identified the 17-year-old victim as Dylan Stamper. The family has started a GoFundMe.

Dylan’s father was last reported to be in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

Police are looking for a second person who they said was in the car with Zeineh. Both the South Lyon police and Oakland County deputies are requesting any information on the individual who drove away from the home in a 2011 Ford Escape, Michigan license plate No. EFH6360.
