Detroit police seek man wanted for stabbing woman at laundromat

DETROIT – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place on Detroit’s east side.

According to police, the incident happened Saturday, Jan. 2 at around 2:22 a.m. inside a laundromat in the 12900 block of East 7 Mile Road in Detroit.

The man approached a 27-year-old woman inside the laundromat. When she started backing away from him he pulled out a knife and stabbed her, police say.

She went to a nearby gas station for help. The man took the woman’s purse and also fled the scene.

Police say the woman was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries.

The stabber is described as a Black man with a medium complexion and cleanly shaved.

He was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black coat with a hood, and black sweater with the word Detroit on the front.

The sweater had a red and white design on the bottom of it. He was also wearing tan shoes and had rings on each finger of his right hand.
