DETROIT – Police are investigating an early morning Friday shooting that killed two men and a young mother.
It happened at a residence on Boston Boulevard, near Dexter Avenue and Elmhurst Street. Police found the bodies of two people upstairs and a third down the street.
“They’re just telling me my niece is in the house and she’s no longer with us,” said the aunt of one of the victims. “She has seven kids. I really don’t know what to do.”
The woman has been identified as 32-year-old Janea Fletcher. She was a mother of seven children, ages 2-17.
The identities of the other victims have not officially been released and family members of the potential victims are trying to find out if their loved one is one of the men killed.
A cousin to a potential victim said she’s been unable to get in contact with her cousin and that he isn’t answering the phone, nor was he at work Friday morning.
“If anybody knows anything about this to please feel free to let her family know, the police or anything,” said the aunt of one of the victims. “Because this is not fair. She has seven kids. It’s not fair.”
Any with information is urged to call the Detroit Police Department at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
