WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Waterford Township school was on lockdown Friday due to a nearby situation that involved heavily armed authorities.

Katie Alexander, the principal of Momentum Academy, confirmed the school was on lockdown as children were dropped off Friday morning. Authorities informed school officials of a police situation on Lakeview Street near Huron Street.
Police haven’t released any specific details about the situation, but confirmed around 7:50 a.m. Friday (April 23) that they had asked residents on Lakeview Street to shelter in place. All residents were called by police, authorities said.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office revealed just before noon that their response to the scene has completed, and that nobody was injured.
No additional information has been confirmed.
