Police: Car hits teen crossing Telegraph Road in Redford, flees

16-year-old boy expected to be OK after incident Friday

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A teenager was struck by a car while crossing a major road in Redford Township Friday morning.

According to police, a 16-year-old boy was crossing Telegraph Road near West Chicago Road when he was hit by a car at around 8 a.m. Friday. Officials say the car fled the scene after colliding with the teen.

The 16-year-old boy is expected to survive.

Police are still looking for the driver involved in the incident. This is an ongoing investigation.

The left two lanes of Telegraph Road were still open amid the investigation as of 8 a.m. Friday.
