Ceremony held in Oakland County to honor World War II heroes

B-24 Liberator served as backdrop

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The B-24 Liberator, the plane that was used in World War II, was built in Metro Detroit.

On Thursday, the women who helped build it, the men who flew it and the Tuskegee Airmen who escorted it gathered for a reunion at the Oakland County Airport.
