Person of interest wanted after mother of 2 shot, killed outside Detroit home, police say

DETROIT – Detroit police are searching for a person of interest in connection with the death of a mother of two who was shot and killed outside of her home.

The shooting happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 17) in the 16900 block of Carlisle Street on the city’s east side, according to authorities.

A mother of two was fatally shot after dropping off her children at school, police said.

Authorities have identified David Ariel Hammond, 45, as a person of interest. They said he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Hammond or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detroit police.
