A man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing I-94 on foot after his car was hit by a different driver has died, police said.
According to Michigan State Police, on Friday, a 21-year-old man was driving westbound on I-94 near Harper Avenue when he was struck by another car. The driver of the at-fault vehicle reportedly fled the scene, and the man’s vehicle remained in the center lane of the freeway, blocking oncoming traffic.

The 21-year-old man exited his car and started to cross I-94, when he was struck by another oncoming vehicle. Police say the impact sent the man up and over the median wall, and he landed in the left lane of eastbound I-94.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and has since died as a result of his injuries, police said Saturday.
The driver that struck the man on foot reportedly remained at the scene and was not injured in the crash. MSP are still looking for the at-fault driver of the initial hit-and-run as of Saturday.
