CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A teen was killed Friday night after being struck by a semi truck while attempting to cross I-275 after a car crash, police said.
According to officials, at about 11:20 p.m. Friday, a single-car crash occurred on northbound I-275 near Ford Road. The car was reportedly occupied by three people, who all got out of the vehicle and started to cross the southbound lanes of the freeway.

Michigan State Police say that one of the occupants, an 18-year-old boy from Detroit, was hit by a semi truck driving southbound on the freeway. The teen was killed in the crash, officials said.
The two other occupants were found by police. It is unclear if they sustained any injuries.
The driver of the semi truck reportedly stopped at the scene.
No other details have been provided at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
