Von Maur opening store at Village of Rochester Hills, first new store in area since 2008

Von Maur’s new store at The Village of Rochester Hills will officially open this weekend, marking the retailer’s first new store in Metro Detroit since 2008.

A grand opening is planned for Saturday, March 19 at the outdoor shopping center located at Adams Road and Walton Boulevard. Von Maur is located at 400 N. Adams Road within lifestyle center. The 122,000 square foot, 2-level department store will open its doors and join the compelling mix of shops and restaurants at 10 a.m.

The store will be Von Maur’s fourth store in Michigan, and 36th overall. The store will employ about 150 people.

“It’s an exciting day here in the City of Rochester Hills,” said Rochester Hills Mayor, Bryan K. Barnett. “This beautiful, new department store is a major investment in our city by both Robert B. Aikens & Associates and the Von Maur family.  We are delighted that the long-awaited opening of this incredible department store is here, and we applaud the great new addition to Rochester Hills and the greater Detroit marketplace.”

The Grand Opening Celebration will take place on Saturday, March 19 from 10:00am to 9:00pm with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:45am. The opening day event will feature a DJ and live music, balloon artists, a selfie station, and a coloring station in the children’s department, guests will have the chance to win prizes and special gifts with every purchase.
