Update: 15-year-old Chippewa Valley High School student faces multiple charges after gun found in school
The high school entered temporary lockdown on the morning of April 1 after a parent and student reported that another student had a firearm on school grounds, Chippewa Valley Schools Superintendent Ron Roberts wrote to the community Friday. School administrators called police right away and placed the school under lockdown as a precautionary measure, officials said.
Police responded to the report and removed the student without incident, Roberts said. The student is currently in police custody, though it is unclear if they will face any charges.
“Keeping our students and staff safe is a community-wide effort. Parents, please remember to talk to your child about your expectations for behavior at home and at school. Remind them of the school policies that prohibit weapons on school premises and the serious consequences they will face is they violate those rules.”
