MONROE, Mich. – Monroe police arrested one person for attempted murder after a man was cut in the neck with an “edged weapon,” they said.
Officers were called around 10:30 p.m. Monday (April 4) to the area of West Third and Union streets in Monroe. They found a man suffering from a neck injury caused by what they called an “edged weapon,” according to authorities.

The man received emergency medical care to prevent further blood loss until firefighters and an ambulance arrived to take him to a nearby hospital. He is battling life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Police located the man suspected of the attack within hours, and he was interviewed by detectives, they said. He is being held at the Monroe County Jail for attempted homicide, according to officials.
