Demolition set to begin at green ooze site in Madison Heights

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – The green ooze site along I-696 in Madison Heights is seeing the beginning of its end.

Demolition for the site will begin Friday at the former Electroplating Services site.

There have been many questions surrounding the green ooze site, and many drivers have reported seeing discolored water on the street, especially after it rains.

The green ooze has been living off of I-696 since 2019. Last month, Gary Sayers was found responsible for the toxic green ooze and officials say he is not allowed on the site.
