Police investigating after driver shot on 8 Mile Road in Southfield

Officials say the incident could be a case of road rage

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Officials say a driver was shot in Southfield in what could be a case of road rage.

According to police, a driver was shot at while traveling near 8 Mile and Telegraph roads, causing them to crash into the woods nearby.

Police say the driver of the car was shot multiple times, with at least one gunshot wound to the head. He was picked up by Detroit police, who then took him to a local area hospital.

There were approximately 16 shell casings found at the scene, as markers lined the street for evidence, officials said.

A green light location may have captured the incident on video, police said.
