TAYLOR, Mich. – A civilian was shot during a police training exercise in Heritage Park in Taylor.
The shooting happened Sunday (April 24) at 5 p.m. One of the auxiliary officers discharged one round from his weapon during the training exercise, police said.
The civilian was a role player in a vehicle takedown training exercise. The civilian was shot in the abdomen and transported to an area hospital.
The civilian is expected to be OK.
Michigan State Police were called to investigate and spent hours in the park investigating and speaking to witnesses.
