Westland man charged with murder, torture after killing wife with scissors, police say

WESTLAND, Mich. – A Westland man is facing murder and torture charges after he killed his wife with a pair of scissors, police said.

Westland officers say they were called around 9 p.m. Tuesday (May 3) to a home in the 32600 block of Judy Drive. They said they found Sarah Grant, 45, dead in the garage with cuts on her body. The family told Local 4 that police weren’t called until the next day.

Her husband, William Scott Grant, 49, is accused of killing his wife by stabbing her multiple times with a pair of scissors.

He had fled the home before officers arrived, according to authorities. He was arrested later that night, they said.

William Grant is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder, and torture.

He is expected to be arraigned Friday morning in 18th District Court.
