2 girls critically hurt in hit-and-run on Belle Isle, officials say

Investigators trying to find driver who hit 2 girls, left the scene

DETROIT – Officials say two girls were critically hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Monday (May 30) in Belle Isle in Detroit.

Police say the victims are 14-year-old and 12-year-old girls.

Belle Isle was closed earlier for several hours due to the island reaching its maximum capacity number of vehicles.

After the two victims were injured, the Department of Natural Resources decided to block off the entrance to the island.

Investigators are trying to find the driver who hit the two girls and left the scene.
