DETROIT – The Detroit Public Schools Community District will dismiss students from classes three hours early on Tuesday due to high temperatures, officials say.
Assistant Superintendent of Communications Chrystal Wilson announced Monday that schools will be dismissed three hours earlier based on each school’s regular dismissal time. The decision comes as temperatures are expected to rise to near 90 degrees on Tuesday, May 31.

Regular and daily transportation will still be provided for arrival and departure from school, officials said. All indoor after-school activities have been canceled.
