TAYLOR, Mich. – Two drivers were killed Tuesday when a car crashed into a pickup on I-94 in Taylor, causing a collision with a semi truck, and ultimately igniting both the car and the pickup, police said.
Michigan State Police troopers were called at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday (June 21) to a crash on westbound I-94 near Beech Daly Road in Taylor, according to authorities.

Officials said a pickup truck had been traveling in the left lane of the freeway, and a semi truck was in the center lane.
A car came from an unknown direction and struck the pickup truck, troopers said. The collision caused the pickup to crash into the semi, they said.
The car and the pickup caught on fire and came to rest in the area of the left shoulder and ditch, according to police. The semi truck stopped on the left shoulder while blocking both the left and center lanes, officials said.
When troopers arrived, they said the driver of the pickup truck had already gotten out and was on the ground with severe burns.
The driver of the car was removed from the vehicle and was also suffering from severe burns, police said.
Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead, according to authorities.
The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
