Officials said a pickup truck had been traveling in the left lane of the freeway, and a semi truck was in the center lane.

A car came from an unknown direction and struck the pickup truck, troopers said. The collision caused the pickup to crash into the semi, they said.

The car and the pickup caught on fire and came to rest in the area of the left shoulder and ditch, according to police. The semi truck stopped on the left shoulder while blocking both the left and center lanes, officials said.
