DETROIT – After a few mid-week showers, we’re looking ahead to what is shaping up to be a great weekend ahead.
First, though, a minor hurdle to get through.
Thursday
We’ll see mainly clear skies overnight as temperatures drop into the lower to middle 60s. After a dry start to the day Thursday, a few showers are looking possible during the later morning hours as a boundary moves through southeast Michigan.
This boundary will do two things.
First, try to produce a few light showers—the second, usher in drier air for the weekend. As far as the rain goes, it will be low impact and not widespread. Anything out there should wrap up shortly after lunchtime. Highs Thursday will be in the middle 80s, and then we look ahead to the great weekend on tap.
Weekend forecast
Lots of sunshine is expected on both days this weekend, with warmer highs. We top out in the lower 80s on Friday but climb into the middle 80s by Sunday. This is before some more changes return early next week.
Next week forecast
Rain and storm chances come back into the forecast later Monday into Tuesday, but the bigger story is the return of the heat. We’re near 90 degrees by Wednesday and going even warmer from there as some models are putting out triple-digit heat by the end of next week.
