Police: Grand Blanc teen found shot to death in apartment basement wasn’t ‘lured’ to Detroit

When a Metro Detroit teenager was found shot to death in the basement of a Detroit apartment building, some claimed that he was lured to the city as a robbery target -- but Detroit police say otherwise.

Officials say that Jacob Hills, of Grand Blanc, was found dead in a basement laundry room at a Detroit apartment on Monday, July 25. The 18-year-old reportedly went to a party with friends in Detroit the Saturday prior.

‘Not cutting too many breaks’: MSP looking for drivers going over 55 mph on Southfield Freeway

The speed limit on the Southfield Freeway is 55 mph, and Michigan State Police are ramping up enforcement Thursday and watching for speeding drivers.

Michigan Medicine issues statement on student walkout that made national headlines

Michigan Medicine has responded to the protest staged by incoming medical students during University of Michigan’s annual White Coat Ceremony on Sunday.

The keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Kristin Collier, who has shared her anti-abortion views on social media.

“Dr. Collier never planned to address a divisive topic as part of her remarks,” reads a statement issued by Michigan Medicine on Tuesday. “However, the University of Michigan does not revoke an invitation to a speaker based on their personal beliefs.”
