PONTIAC, Mich. – Sheriff’s detectives in Oakland County are asking for the public’s help in finding a man charged with sexually assaulting a patient at a hospital where he worked.
The incident happened at Pontiac General Hospital, officials say.
The Oakland County sheriff spoke out about the circumstances of the assault, calling it disgusting that a young woman receiving mental health services would be violated by a person charged with her care.
Investigators say an 18-year-old patient at Pontiac General Hospital became a victim of a sexual assault in the early morning hours of July 14.
Officials say the incident was reported, and police responded that same day.
Kevin Blanks of Detroit, a former night shift mental health technician, was identified as the attacker, officials say.
Blanks was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct,” police say.
Blanks, 56, was fired from his job at the hospital, but police haven’t found him yet.
Police are asking for your help in locating Blanks.
