SOUTH LYON, Mich. – In the space formerly known as Erwin Orchards & Cider Mill, Blake’s Lyon Township will open to the public on Aug. 20.
Erwin Orchards announced last month that after 102 years, their doors are officially closing. Blake Farms, based out of Armada, will be picking up the 102-year-old tradition and continuing Erwin’s experience with its signature donuts and cider, petting zoo, u-pick and tractor rides.

Blake’s officials announced that the South Lyon location will feature several new additions this upcoming season, including Blake’s Hard Cider and wine, baked goods, a fresh produce farm stand, cider mill treats and live music.
The orchard will be hosting a welcome weekend on Aug. 27-28. The weekend will feature family activities, live music and free cider and donuts.
“We are proud to carry on the Erwin’s traditions that have been part of South Lyon for so many years, maintaining that culture and bringing in several enhancements to create an unforgettable experience for all,” wrote Andrew Blake, president of Blake’s Family of Companies, in a press release. “The Blake family and our team of dedicated employees look forward to being part of the South Lyon and surrounding communities and welcoming new and returning guests this season.”
Blake’s Lyon Township will be open seven days a week from Aug. 20 through Oct. 31. Visit Blake’s website here for more information.
