DETROIT – A child shot his grandmother overnight when they got into an argument inside an SUV in Detroit, police said.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 10) in the 8800 block of Knodell Street on the city’s east side, according to authorities.

Officials said a boy and his grandmother, a woman in her 50s, were sitting inside a vehicle when they got into an argument. The child fired multiple shots at his grandmother, police said. The argument began in the SUV, but it’s unclear if he fired the shots from inside or outside.
The grandmother was grazed by a bullet, according to officials. Details about her condition were not provided.
Police said the child was detained.
